Our Story
Mushroom Cloud Coffee is a veteran-owned small-batch coffee company built on discipline, purpose, and a relentless commitment to quality.
Service
In the years of 2015 - 2022 Ian and Freddy proudly served in the United States Army while in the Signal Corps. They gained invaluable experience, leadership skills, and a strong sense of discipline. During their time in uniform, they developed a shared vision for life beyond the military. After transitioning out of active service, both took the lessons learned from the Army — resilience, commitment, and teamwork — and brought their skills to the private sector.
Oracle NetSuite
Post Service — Ian and Freddy crossed paths in Austin, Texas while working at Oracle NetSuite in 2022, where they both worked as Business Development Representatives. While learning the ropes of the tech industry and sharpening their skills in sales and communication, they quickly realized they shared a common drive to do something more impactful. Fueled by their passion for leadership, service, and building something of their own, they took a leap and launched their company in 2023.
Tactical Pause
This year, life brought big changes. Ian welcomed another child into his family, got a new job, and relocated to South Carolina. Meanwhile Freddy focused on his new job and family. With both navigating major personal milestones, they made the intentional decision to pause and regroup. The break wasn't a setback — it was a reset, allowing them to come back with renewed energy and clarity for what's ahead.
The Relaunch
After a year of recalibrating, Mushroom Cloud Coffee came back stronger than ever. Ian and Freddy reconnected with a sharpened vision and a refined product. They overhauled their branding, locked in a new supplier for premium organic mushroom blends, and relaunched the online store. What started as a side project officially became a full-fledged operation — with a growing customer base, new wholesale partnerships, and a renewed commitment to building something that lasts.
Mission Forward
This is the year Mushroom Cloud Coffee goes on the offensive. With operations running smoothly and demand climbing, Ian and Freddy are focused on scaling — expanding into new markets, building community partnerships, and giving back to the veteran community that shaped them. New products are in development, collaborations are in motion, and the mission is clear: grow the brand without losing the soul behind it. The best is yet to come.
